“As someone who was very lost and had many meetings with therapists of all ages, genders, ethnicities, etc. I never truly found someone who I connected with the way I did with Jamie. Jamie made me feel like a person, not a patient, and allowed me to open up and talk about my experiences in a judgement free way. I really felt seen and heard when I first interacted with her, and throughout our time together, I have been able to feel comforted, guided, cared for, and most importantly seen! I would recommend my family, friends, and anyone looking for support to contact Jamie! ”

Getting to know Jamie Genatt

Jamie, growing up as a perfectionist, quickly learned throughout her academic and clinical pursuits, including earning her Master's in Social Work from New York University, that her old ways of thinking needed to take a back seat. Jamie once believed that events and decisions were examined on a binary scale: it either is or it is not; it is black or white; it is here or there. But life has taught her that the vast majority of one's decisions and proclivities are firmly rooted in the grey zone. By nature, Jamie is a ?problem juggler? who believed that with enough hard work and a well-polished rolodex of knowledge, she could find an answer to any problem. She now understands the limitations of this thought and, even more humbling, the feeling of being of value. Jamie has worked to redefine her value and passions in life to live a fruitful and fulfilling life. In her work, she hopes to guide her clients toward visualization techniques for success as well as emotional resilience-ultimately giving them permission, if they need it, to follow opportunities and accept defeat. She believes in assisting clients to move the needle more productively and creatively toward becoming more authentic and flexible people. Control, however, is an illusion.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Jamie is not your typical therapist. She doesn't wear the typical “business attire”; instead, she opts for comfortable attire that puts her clients at ease from the moment they enter a session. In her upper-20s, Jamie is a digital native herself, which allows her to effortlessly connect with Gen-Z and Millennial clients. She speaks their language, understands their pop culture references, and is well-versed in the challenges they face, whether it's navigating the pressures of social media, coping with the uncertainties of a rapidly changing job market, insecurities in the dating world or dealing with the stressors of education and student loans. Jamie believes in the power of relatability and open communication. She encourages his clients to express themselves freely and knows how to create an environment where they feel heard and understood. Her therapeutic approach combines evidence-based techniques with a practical understanding of the digital age. She helps her clients develop coping strategies for anxiety, depression, and stress, while also addressing issues like imposter syndrome, relationship challenges, and finding purpose in a fast-paced world. To make therapy accessible, Jamie offers virtual sessions, accommodating the busy and mobile lives of Gen-Z and Millennials. She’s also active on social media, where she shares mental health tips, inspiration, and engaging content that resonates with her audience. If you're a Gen-Z or Millennial seeking a therapist who not only understands your generation's unique journey but also provides a relatable and supportive environment to help you grow and thrive, Jamie is the caring professional you've been looking for. Reach out to her today and embark on a journey toward self-discovery, resilience, and well-being tailored to your generation's needs.
