Jamie Griffith, LPCC

Psychotherapist
CA
I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who provides a supportive, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space for teens and adults navigating life’s challenges. I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, relationship concerns, self-esteem difficulties, men’s issues, and major life transitions. I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel uncomfortable, especially if you’re used to handling things on your own. My goal is to create an environment where you can speak openly, feel heard, and work through challenges without feeling judged or pressured. My approach is individualized and grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused techniques, and strengths-based interventions. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, I help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and experiences. I believe meaningful change happens through both insight and action. Together, we’ll identify what may be keeping you stuck, build practical coping skills, recognize your strengths, and work toward goals that are meaningful to you. Therapy is your story, and you get to decide what the next chapter looks like. My role is to help you navigate the pages along the way.

Therapy is your story, and you get to decide what the next chapter looks like. My role is to help you navigate the pages along the way.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel comfortable being yourself, without judgment or pressure to have everything figured out. We’ll work together to understand what you’re experiencing, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical strategies that support meaningful change. I tailor therapy to each person rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. I often incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), strengths-based interventions, and solution-focused strategies while creating space to process emotions and life experiences at your own pace. You can expect me to be supportive while also encouraging you to challenge unhelpful thoughts, explore new perspectives, and practice skills outside of sessions. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, life transitions, self-esteem, or simply feeling overwhelmed, our work will focus on helping you better understand yourself and move toward the life you want. You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what to say or where to begin. We can start wherever you are and work together to write your next chapter.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Therapy begins with getting to know you and understanding what brought you in. During our first few sessions, we’ll talk about your current concerns, relevant experiences, strengths, and what you hope to gain from therapy. Together, we’ll identify goals that feel realistic and meaningful to you. In a typical session, we’ll check in on how things have been since we last met and focus on what feels most important that day. Depending on your needs, we may explore thoughts, emotions, relationships, or patterns that are contributing to stress. We may also practice coping skills, challenge unhelpful thinking patterns, problem-solve current concerns, or identify practical steps you can use between sessions. I believe therapy works best as a collaborative process. I’ll provide guidance, feedback, and tools, but you’ll always have a voice in the direction and pace of our work. As therapy progresses, we’ll regularly check in on your goals, recognize your progress, and adjust our approach when needed. My goal is for you to leave sessions with greater insight, practical tools, and a clearer sense of how to move forward—one chapter at a time.
