What should a new client know about working with you?

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and I aim to make the process feel supportive, collaborative, and grounded from the beginning. My style is warm, curious, engaged, and respectful. I work with individuals and couples who are navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship concerns, emotional overwhelm, self-esteem challenges, and major life transitions. In our work together, you can expect a balance of practical support and deeper reflection. We may focus on building coping skills, improving emotional regulation, strengthening communication, and identifying meaningful next steps. At the same time, we may also explore the patterns, relationships, past experiences, and internal beliefs that shape how you understand yourself and move through the world. My approach is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and individualized. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, solution-focused strategies, psychodynamic therapy, attachment-based therapy, and relational therapy. This means treatment is not one-size-fits-all. We will work together to clarify what you need, what feels helpful, and what pace feels right for you. Clients often come to therapy when they feel stuck, disconnected, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward. My goal is to offer a space where you feel seen, heard, and accepted while also feeling supported in making meaningful change. Therapy can include learning concrete tools, processing painful experiences, understanding recurring patterns, and reconnecting with your values. I believe healing happens through a strong therapeutic relationship. I will work with you collaboratively and thoughtfully, with attention to emotional safety, trust, and your individual goals. Whether you are coping with grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship stress, or a difficult transition, we will focus on helping you feel more grounded, connected, and empowered to move forward.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The therapy process begins with getting to know you, your goals, and what has led you to seek support at this point in your life. The first one to two sessions are typically intake appointments. During this time, we will review your current concerns, relevant history, relationships, symptoms, strengths, past therapy experiences, and life events that may be shaping what you are going through now. These early sessions are also a chance to ask questions, share what you are hoping for, and begin to get a sense of whether therapy feels like a good fit. I believe therapy works best when clients feel understood, respected, and safe. Intake is not just gathering information. It is also the beginning of building trust. We will move at a pace that feels manageable for you, especially when discussing grief, trauma, relationship pain, or experiences that may feel difficult to revisit. You will not be expected to share everything all at once, and we will work collaboratively to decide what feels most important. My approach is individualized and collaborative. I work with adults and couples navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, stress, life transitions, relationship concerns, emotional dysregulation, boundaries, confidence, and patterns that may no longer feel helpful. Together, we will identify patterns, clarify goals, build coping and communication skills, and explore emotional themes. I draw from CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, attachment-based therapy, psychodynamic therapy, relational therapy, and strengths-based care. Therapy may include tools for coping and emotional regulation, as well as exploration of how past experiences, attachment patterns, relationships, and beliefs about yourself may be affecting your present life. My goal is to create a supportive space where you feel understood and supported while working toward meaningful change. Therapy can help you feel more grounded, connected, and empowered to move forward.
