Getting to know Jamie McLemore

Life is complicated. Acknowledging that you may need some assistance is the first step, asking for help is the second. Whatever your struggle, I will listen. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling & happier life & to take the first steps toward change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support & empower YOU! Not every individual has experienced trauma, yet every human has experienced some type of fear. My goal is to help my clients understand how the “Fear Response” drives our body’s chemical reactions in situations, learn how our conscious and unconscious thoughts are related to fear, and assist individuals to comprehend the importance of how and why their thoughts and actions are connected. This new awareness creates a foundation for each individual to become more empowered to create change as he or she learns new skills to improve actions, reactions, and thoughts. Let 30 years of professional & personal experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, specializing in Trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, ADHD, relationship & parenting issues help you find a Better path to a Better YOU! Together, we will discuss how to best address your issues using a holistic approach. As a Trauma Informed provider, a combined, nuanced approach that best meets YOUR needs includes; Client Centered, Cognitive/Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, with Supportive, Mindfulness, Solution Focused techniques; which are also influenced by the Internal Family Systems to tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet YOUR unique & specific needs. More importantly, YOU will be assessing me. It is extremely important to ensure that YOU feel SAFE with YOUR therapist. Your safety with your therapist is the foundation of your treatment success. I encourage you to ask questions and advocate for yourself. After all, this is YOUR healing journey!

What should a new client know about working with you?

In our first session together, here's what you can expect During our first session, I will be gathering information to help me understand YOUR goals & needs for your therapeutic experience. More importantly, you will be assessing me. It is extremely important to ensure that YOU feel SAFE with the therapist YOU chose. Your safety with your therapist is the foundation of YOUR treatment success. I encourage you to ask questions and advocate for yourself. After all, this is YOUR healing journey… Creating a better path to a Better YOU!

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I have been a Social Worker for a long time! My role is to help you identify the coping strategies you already possess which have helped you survive. Together, we will reflect on those strategies & improve upon them, learn new techniques & set manageable goals that help build your self-confidence, self-assurance & self-reliance to a point where you no longer need a social worker! The clients I'm best positioned to serve Are you struggling with anxiety? Are you struggling with depressed mood? Are you struggling with grief &/or loss? Are relationships difficulty for you? Are you struggling with prioritizing, organizing, procrastination & implementing strategies that maybe interfering with achieving your Life Goals? If you answered yes to any of these questions, perhaps speaking with a neutral, non-judgmental third party; such a therapist, who is trained to assist with these & other issues, may be a good place to start! Not everyone experiences all of these symptoms, yet often times, these experiences are interconnected; tangled, if you will, creating a confused mixture of emotions & thoughts that are difficult to sort through alone. Finding a solution may be as simple as learning new coping skills or tweaking the coping strategies that you already have. For some, we don't realize how old thought patterns & unrealistic expectations unconsciously impact our internal thought process, creating a negative perception of self. Learning to recognize these unhelpful negative thought patterns can be reconditioned & reframed to help us encourage & empower ourselves from within while becoming less dependent on external validation.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
