Getting to know Jamie Schmidt

Hi there, I'm Jamie! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from California State University, Dominguez Hills. I have worked with individuals from various backgrounds and experiences, including those moving through trauma, grief and loss, depression, and anxiety. My practice focuses on supporting individuals experiencing symptoms of anxiety and depression by providing a safe space to explore healthy ways to manage these symptoms and utilize the strengths and resources available to promote a better quality of life. My approach I feel that the most crucial part of therapy is the relationship we form and having an open space to collaborate and communicate about your goals and your care. This is your journey, and I am honored to take part in it. I believe each individual is unique and has their own approach to telling their story. It is important that you feel heard, respected, and are on board with how we are approaching your concerns. My focus I am committed to working with adults, ages 18-65, who face challenges related to anxiety and depression. I also enjoy supporting individuals experiencing grief and loss, as these are experiences we all encounter and may need additional support to process and move through these major life moments. My communication style I like to start by exploring what has brought you into this space and hearing more about your story. I want to ensure you feel comfortable sharing and being vulnerable as we work together to create a positive environment. We will explore what you hope to accomplish through your care and focus on moving toward those goals in each session, at your own pace.
