Jamielyn Yates, LPC

Psychotherapist
MO
My name is Jamie Yates, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Missouri. I earned my Master's in Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands. I am trained in DBT, CBT, and ACT. I work with my clients to set goals and identify areas of change. This may include offering insight into areas of concern or guiding you toward implementing the changes you would like to see. My approach I use an eclectic approach that focuses on how our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors affect our lives. This approach emphasizes acceptance of what we cannot change while working toward the changes you want to implement. My focus I generally work with teenagers and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, and/or Borderline Personality Disorder. My communication style I utilize a laid-back approach with gentle encouragement for change in areas my clients have identified as concerns. My journey to mental healthcare I was drawn to being a therapist because of my natural skills in listening and nonjudgment of others. I am driven to help others improve their lives and find this work truly rewarding. My goals for you I collaborate with my clients to set goals and identify areas for growth and change. My first session with you During the first session, you can expect to share what you feel comfortable sharing while answering some questions to help me understand your concerns and needs in therapy.
