Jan Dromnes, LCSW

Psychotherapist
TX
I am a psychotherapist with over 30 years of extensive inpatient and outpatient therapy experience. For the past 16 years, I have worked at a Level 1 Trauma Center, assisting individuals coping with physical, emotional, and psychological trauma. I am licensed in Texas as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in advanced clinical practice, having earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of Houston. My practice includes individual, family, couple, group, multifamily, and educational group therapies. I utilize a cognitive behavioral approach focused on helping clients achieve their goals. In family therapy, I apply a family systems approach that values the interactions between family members as equally important as individual behaviors. My specialties include survivorship, grief and loss, transitioning life stages, trauma-informed care, depression and anxiety challenges, motivation, self-esteem and confidence development, removing barriers to self-growth, and coping skills development. As a U.S. Navy veteran, I work with military members, first responders, and their significant others. I am both a provider and a survivor. I believe the human spirit is stronger than we realize until it is tested. It takes courage to take steps toward change and seek a more fulfilling, meaningful life. I am here to offer insight, compassionate support, and empowerment on that journey. Much of my therapeutic approach involves a spiritual component. I believe you are the expert in the experiential portion of your story, but the author is Divine Deity. You have been given many strengths and answers to help you overcome your current challenges. From my own experience, I have learned that identifying and developing one's purpose and sense of meaning requires sacrifice, humility, compassion, integrity, endurance, trust, and faith.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Once assigned, you will be sent an initial assessment form, an anxiety assessment and a depression assessment. During your first session you can expect a review of your completed initial assessment and the anxiety and depression assessments. We will discuss your current needs and concerns. We will then discuss a treatment plan that can put you on the path of reaching your therapeutic goals.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
