Getting to know Jana Gottesman

The therapeutic process of talking through life issues with a skilled clinician can provide openings, shifts, and relief that are deeply healing and life-changing. Feeling seen, heard, and understood by another can help one compassionately turn inward to untangle, explore, and heal those wounds. There are ways we have developed that don't always serve us. The only way through is with patience, curiosity, and compassion, with the ongoing goal of learning how to be our own best support. It can be helpful to have a guide on this process who provides containment, safety, connection, and knowledge. I bring to this work a Master's in Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work, grounding my approach in both education and experience to support clients on their healing journeys.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Topics and themes will present themselves during sessions and we will take time with them, using strategies and tools to develop awareness, understanding, insight and healing. Our time together is a mix of practical/tool-based strategies combined with deeper work.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
