Hello! My name is Jana (Ya’-na) McCrea, and I'm a licensed Marriage, Family, and Child Therapist and ENDR practitioner in Northern California. I specialize in treating infants, children, adolescents, families, couples, and individuals, focusing on those who struggle with severe behavior impairments, attachment disorders, and histories of trauma and abuse. My professional experience as a child and family therapist spans 20 years, but that only covers my years as a licensed therapist. As a child, I moved with my parents to the Pacific island paradise of Palau, where I began working with children in the village who attended the school where my parents taught. I even expanded my activities to include teaching swimming! This idyllic childhood gave me the life experience of growing up in the minority, fostering an appreciation of diversity and an understanding of life where you often don't know the language or culture around you. I have carried those skills throughout my professional career. My first career was as a teacher, director, and business owner. I returned to the States as a young adult, attending college while working at a Marine Corps base child care center, eventually managing it. After getting married in 1978, I ran a daycare business and taught the subject in a Regional Occupational Program. Returning to college, I earned a master's degree in education with a specialty in curriculum development from National University in the 1980s. Later, I earned a master's degree in Counseling from Pacific Oaks College, specializing in marriage and family life therapy. In the mid-nineties, I ran an international English immersion school in the Czech Republic for two fascinating years, with my own two teenagers as students. Nearly twenty years later, in a completely different career, I found myself working on military bases worldwide, providing trauma therapy to young children and couples therapy to equally young servicemembers.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
