Getting to know Jane Ellen Miller

Are you tired of never seeming to feel good enough-no matter how hard you try or how much you accomplish? Are you physically and emotionally exhausted from trying to be everything to everyone? Or are you tired of beating yourself up over every mistake? If this sounds like you, I want you to know that you're not alone. These are common experiences for those who struggle with perfectionism and setting boundaries, which is what I specialize in. I have been a licensed social worker since 2011 and have been working in private practice since 2018. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of Houston. My clinical expertise focuses on utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to address perfectionism and help clients establish healthy boundaries. This is your opportunity to embrace your imperfections and learn to recognize them as part of who you are in this moment. We, as human beings, grow and change. I hope you will allow me to walk alongside you on your journey of growth and transformation.

What should a new client know about working with you?

For full disclosure, I do not provide the evaluation for fitness of work/school, worker’s comp forms, FMLA forms, SSDI, Emotional Support Animal Letters or the like. My speciality is boundaries and perfectionism. I try to work with clients whose needs fall within that realm. I am not a provider who specializes in trauma, extreme mood disturbance, Autism Spectrum Disorder, etc.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I view therapy like driving a car. You are the driver and I am in the passenger seat. You decide how fast we go, how slow we go, when we stop the car and you get out. I meet you where you are, assess what goals you have and provide the skills you need in order to reach them.
