As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Janea provides holistic treatment plans to clients around Alexandria, VA. She earned her Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Forensic Psychology from Marymount University and holds a Bachelor's degree from Howard University. As a military dependent of two active-duty members, Janea understands how difficult transitions can be within the home. She enjoys providing services to military personnel and their families, offering support during times of change and when members return home. Janea provides cognitive therapy and conducts counseling sessions for marriage, relationships, and teenage and adolescent issues. She also has experience in community-based services for children in foster care transitioning out of and back into the home setting, as well as preparing for leaving the system. Additionally, she works with adults diagnosed with severe mental illness, including personality disorders, helping them gain stability within a community setting and assisting family members in learning how to best provide support. Janea maintains a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere during her sessions, encouraging clients to speak freely about issues that trouble them.
