I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Missouri (LMFT), and I am a Provisional Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE-P) with the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR). I am dedicated to my advocacy work of Mental Health and sharing the importance of being mentally healthy to produce positive relationships, whether it is within self, work, parenting, partnerships, or socially. My therapeutic approach is deeply rooted in person-centered principles, where compassion and validation form the foundation of our work together. I am dedicated to creating a supportive environment where we can explore your challenges and goals. While I provide a space for understanding and empathy, I also gently challenge you to consider alternative perspectives, empowering you to achieve lasting positive change. I believe that you are the expert in your own life, and my role is to assist you in exploring your journey and achieving your desired outcomes. My practice is centered on supporting the mental wellness of BIPOC individuals, with a focus on maternal and paternal health, single-parent households, and navigating workplace stress. What should a new client know about working with you?

My communication style is warm, empathetic, and collaborative. I offer feedback with compassion, always aiming to understand your unique perspective. I strive to create a safe space where you feel heard and valued, encouraging open dialogue and mutual respect throughout our session. My journey into this field began with a deep appreciation for the transformative power of therapeutic support. Witnessing the positive impact of guidance in my own life, I became passionate about helping others navigate their most challenging experiences. As a Black woman who, as a young adult, experienced life as a single working parent, I understand the unique hurdles faced by those in marginalized communities, including work-related stress. Through personal experiences, I've come to recognize the resilience within us all and the vital role that support plays in healing, self-discovery, and growth. It is this understanding that fuels my commitment to support others on their path toward positive change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I partner with clients to achieve their goals by ensuring they are both meaningful and attainable. As a guide, I support you in exploring your path, offering encouragement and identifying potential obstacles. I specialize in collaboratively developing alternative strategies, empowering you to overcome challenges and realize your aspirations. In our first session, we'll begin by exploring your specific needs. This will involve an open conversation to ensure we're a good fit for each other and that I can provide the support you're looking for. My aim is to create a safe space where you feel comfortable sharing your experiences and setting the foundation for positive change.
