Janet Clark (also known as Lori Skillings) is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 25 years of experience working with children, adolescents, families, and couples. Lori earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of California, Irvine, and her master's degree in counseling from San Diego State University in 1992. She uses a family systems therapy approach when working with children, couples, and families, and also incorporates cognitive behavioral techniques and behavioral interventions when working with children and adolescents. Lori has worked in a variety of settings, including schools, outpatient clinics, hospitals, residential, and day treatment programs, giving her extensive experience in diagnosing and treating many kinds of problems. Her specialty areas include childhood and adolescent disorders (ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and mood disorders), blended family issues, adult disorders including relationship issues, anxiety, depressed mood, and Christian counseling. She loves helping people solve their problems in a way that focuses on their strengths, fosters understanding of how and why to make changes, and does so with humor and encouragement.
