Janet Hardin, LCSW

Psychotherapist
AZ
Hi there, I'm Janet! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from Temple University and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland. I have years of hands-on experience working in clinics, hospitals, and urgent care settings. Being a Therapist has always been my passion, and I have been practicing for over 10 years. My work spans many specialties, including women's issues, serious mental illness (SMI), substance use, depression, anxiety, life changes, self-esteem, and aging. My approach My approach is eclectic, shaped by my varied experience and training. I love Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for its well-documented efficacy. I also use motivational interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Positive Psychology, and behavioral techniques tailored to the stages of change. I am always client-centered. Carl Rogers, the father of Humanistic Psychology, said, “Unconditional positive regard is essential for change and growth.” He also described us as “beings in the process of becoming.” We have our lifetimes for our journey-I am his biggest fan. My focus I work with all kinds of people from all walks of life. I have expertise in depression, anxiety, life crises, and change. Women's issues are dear to my heart, but I also address concerns related to men. Relationships of all kinds fascinate me. Often, a wellness lifestyle is a goal. I enjoy working with couples or singles, always prioritizing positive mental health. My communication style I work from my desk in my living room, creating a comfortable, welcoming environment. My tone is informal, and I hope clients feel acceptance and congeniality from me. My goals for you I believe the only goal that matters is the one the client wants to achieve. It is not my goal for the client-it is the client's goal. Strong dialogue to determine a workable, doable goal is essential.
