Hi! My name is Janet Murillo, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from California State University, Stanislaus. I am passionate about helping people struggling with challenges reach their full potential. I believe therapy can be a powerful tool for healing and growth. My approach My approach is client-centered. I believe each person is the expert in their own life and my role is to help them access their strengths and resources. I also use other therapeutic approaches depending on client needs, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Solution Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness. My focus I have been practicing therapy for over 8 years, working with clients across different age groups. I specialize in helping people ages 12 and up cope with stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship problems, and life transitions. My communication style I consider myself a calm, warm, and compassionate therapist. I pride myself on creating a safe and supportive space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences freely and without judgment. My journey to therapy I was driven to do this work because I believe it is important. Everyone should have access to quality mental health care, and I want to be part of making that happen. I am motivated by the satisfaction I get from helping people and find it rewarding to see progress in therapy. My goals for you Goal setting is an important part of therapy, where the client and I work together to determine what they want to accomplish. I begin by getting to know the client and their needs, asking about their goals, what they hope to achieve, and what changes they want to make. From there, I work with the client to develop a plan to achieve those goals.
