Getting to know Janet Vidales
Our mission at Thriving Minds is to provide people with the skills necessary to overcome life's hurdles through therapy grounded in trust, empathy, and understanding. With a Master’s in Social Work from Florida International University, I am dedicated to supporting individuals on their journey toward mental and emotional well-being.
What should a new client know about working with you?
My counseling style is very empathetic, mindful and client-centered, yet direct and straightforward. I apply cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness practices and trauma-informed care. Although I practice using different therapy approaches, I do not believe therapy is a one size fits all approach. I believe in using the therapeutic relationship as an effective way to work through your experiences. I will meet you exactly where you’re at and provide an open and safe space to talk through all the things going on in your life. I believe in treating everyone with respect and pride myself on demonstrating compassion for all and being sensitive to the needs of those I am working with.
Whether it be a child, teen, or adult, it takes a great deal of courage to seek professional help and even more courage to implement changes. However, if you are ready to take the next steps to begin living a more fulfilling and self-empowered lifestyle, I’d love to help guide you along the way.
