Hi there, I'm Janice! My name is Janice Mills, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Substance Abuse Professional. I hold a Bachelor of Social Work degree and a Master of Education in Counseling from Missouri Baptist University. My education and experience have emphasized the importance of working with individuals to identify their strengths and help build their supports. My approach My philosophy on counseling is strength- and solution-based. I believe that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all connected, and by altering one, we can make meaningful life changes. I am an experienced psychotherapist who offers a variety of treatment modalities to individualize the treatment process. My focus We all can feel trapped, paralyzed, or stuck from time to time. Whether it?s a relationship, school, career, adoption, challenges with trauma, depression, anxiety, or substance use, we can find ourselves repeating the same patterns. I work with individuals to help them understand these patterns and how to move beyond their challenges. My focus is on building families and changing lives. I have years of experience working with substance abuse, addictions, mental health, and family systems. My communication style I listen to my clients, engage honestly, and tell them what they need to hear?not just what they want to hear. I work hard to provide an environment that feels safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental. I also assign homework to ensure clients practice strategies that encourage positive change. My journey to mental healthcare I have been working in the social work and counseling field since graduating college. I am driven to help others learn coping skills and habits that foster positive changes, enabling them to become the best version of themselves. I stay energized by continuing my learning journey and watching my clients grow. My goals for you My goal is to help you develop the tools you need for a more satisfying and meaningful life.
