Janine Ferrante, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hello! My name is Janine Ferrante. I have a master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and am licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an LMFT. My approach to therapy is person-centered, providing individual sessions tailored to meet each client's unique needs. My approach is humanistic, relying on evidence-based psychotherapy techniques to address the specific challenges of each individual. My therapeutic toolkit includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness, and family systems therapy. I provide guidance and support for managing a variety of mental health challenges as well as navigating interpersonal relationships, including parenting, divorce, and romantic relationship concerns. I specialize in women's issues such as anxiety, ADHD, ASD, depression, mood disorders (bipolar), OCD, trauma, and PTSD. My communication style is calm, accommodating, and personable. I want my clients to feel comfortable sharing anything with me, and I pride myself on my ability to listen without judgment. My journey to becoming a therapist began while raising my two children and seeking a new career path. I chose to be a full-time parent while earning my master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. When working with clients, I focus on collaborating to define what you want to accomplish during our time together. This often starts by building trust and rapport. Over time, we'll set goals and track your progress. During your first session, I will ask many questions about your background and what brought you to therapy. You will also have the opportunity to ask me questions to determine if I'm the right fit for you. The first session is all about establishing our initial connection.
