People often come to therapy because something isn’t working anymore. Maybe anxiety is taking up too much space, you’re constantly in your head, a relationship feels difficult, or you’ve been pushing through life while quietly feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck. I see therapy as a place to understand what’s actually going on beneath the surface—and then do something useful with that understanding. My style is warm, direct, and collaborative. I’m not interested in giving generic advice or simply nodding along. I’ll listen closely, ask questions that help us get to the heart of things, and offer honest feedback and practical tools when they’re useful. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, and difficult transitions. My approach draws from CBT, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy, but I don’t believe good therapy should feel like following a manual. The work should fit the person sitting in front of me. You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Sometimes knowing that you want something to change is enough of a place to start.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I’m an active therapist. I listen carefully, but I also ask questions, point out patterns, offer perspectives, and challenge you when I think it could be helpful. At the same time, therapy isn’t about me telling you how to live your life. My job is to help you understand yourself more clearly and make decisions that actually make sense for you. There’s room for serious conversations, uncomfortable emotions, humor, and the ordinary messiness of being a person. You don’t need to perform in therapy or come prepared with the “right” things to talk about. We’ll start wherever you are.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first few sessions are about getting a clear picture of what’s happening—not just collecting your history. I want to understand what brought you in, what feels hardest right now, what you’ve already tried, and what you’d like your life to look like if therapy were genuinely helping. From there, we start connecting the dots. We may look at patterns in how you think, respond to stress, approach relationships, or handle difficult emotions. Sometimes the work is about understanding where a pattern came from. Other times, the more important question is what we can do differently now. Sessions are collaborative and tailored to what you need. That might mean learning practical strategies for anxiety, working through a difficult relationship or decision, challenging a way of thinking that keeps pulling you back into the same cycle, or simply slowing things down enough to understand what’s really going on. We’ll periodically check whether therapy is moving in a useful direction. I don’t believe in continuing with an approach just because it’s the one we started with.
