What should a new client know about working with you?

I approach therapy with a view that everything in our lives impacts our experience - such as our job, family, health, language, identities etc... Sometimes it can be hard to identify why we feel a certain way, but with this in mind we can explore and heal from hurt that we have gotten used to. I have been very intentional in approaching work that honors culture. We don't have to keep aguantando. I have a somatic, body-based approach to therapy - meaning that I bring awareness to the physical responses our bodies hold in response to distress. This includes EMDR, and mindful-based practices. I believe in decolonizing our work, and restructuring elements of holistic care to care for our mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

As we get to know each other, I like to break things down into sections. 1- Finding stability in the present 2- Looking into our future goals and how to get there, and/or 3- Look back into our past to see how it has influenced our experiences We all go at our own pace, sometimes taking steps forward and back as we go along our journey. For everyone, I usually use a mix of mindfulness, eco-therapy (nature based therapy), and parts work
