Getting to know Jasarah Baldwin

Hello and welcome to your healing journey! My name is JaSarah N. Baldwin. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist - Associate. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. I would first like to thank you for considering me to be a part of our journey and for taking this incredible step in your life. I am an advocate for mental health wellness for myself and others. Sometimes in life, we are hit with so many obstacles that we do not know what or where to go. My goal as a counselor is to assist you with what you need to jump over the hurdles that you may experience.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My main goal as a counselor is to help those who are willing to work with me to solve their problems. I believe that as a counselor, it is my job to help my clients navigate through steps to get to their solutions. The clientele (population) that serve are adults, children and adolescents. I have a strong background with working with individuals who have substance abuse. Sobriety and recovery are vital things in an individual’s life so being able to help an individual have a productive sober life is one of the duties I have. In order for progress in sessions, both I and the client must be held accountable. We both have to work together which means the client must be open and willing to participate in order to help/benefit the relationship with the client and counselor. In addition being able to work with the family to help with the progress of the client and their goals is important as well.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I provide Individual therapy and family therapy that is focused primarily on your specific needs. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Trauma-focused CBT, Person Centered therapy and Play therapy to assist each client with meeting their specific goal.
