Jasmine Qin, AMFT

Jasmine Qin, AMFT

Psychotherapist
1775 Woodside Rd, Ste 301, Redwood City, CA
I was born and raised in the Bay Area, and later spent several years living in the Midwest and Southern California. As a first-generation Asian American, I deeply understand the complexities of navigating multiple cultural identities while developing a sense of self. This perspective also shapes how I make Western psychology concepts more accessible and meaningful for individuals and families from cultures where mental health may not always be openly discussed. Outside of therapy, you’ll find me training as a hip hop dancer, painting, or backpacking through different countries.

I was born and raised in the Bay Area, and later spent several years living in the Midwest and Southern California. As a first-generation Asian American, I deeply understand the complexities of navigating multiple cultural identities while developing a sense of self. What should a new client know about working with you?

I’ve worked with children, adolescents, and adults in both acute and community mental health settings across Los Angeles and the Bay Area. Having the opportunity to work with people from many different cultures and backgrounds has deeply shaped how I show up as a therapist. I feel especially connected to working with adolescents and young adults and bring a lot of empathy and understanding to their experiences.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I believe therapy should be a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your relationship with yourself and others. My approach is grounded in empathy and collaboration—meeting you where you are and supporting growth and healing at your own pace. I prioritize building genuine connection and rapport, and when it feels right, I’m not afraid to bring in a bit of humor to help create a more comfortable, human experience! Taking the step to seek professional support is an act of courage and resilience. I am here to walk alongside you, holding space for your experiences with respect, dignity, and care. Together, we can work toward deeper understanding, meaningful connection, and a sense of well-being that aligns with your goals.
