Getting to know Jason Guest

Every person’s story is unique, and I believe therapy should reflect that. My approach is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and collaboration. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions—together, we’ll create a path that feels meaningful and tailored to you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

n our work, I often draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a structured and evidence-based approach that helps identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. It’s especially effective for issues like anxiety, depression, and self-doubt, and offers practical tools you can start using right away in your daily life. More than any specific technique, though, I focus on creating a space where you feel safe, understood, and genuinely supported. Whether we’re unpacking past experiences, navigating current challenges, or exploring future goals, my role is to walk alongside you, not to "fix" you, but to help you reconnect with your own strength and clarity. Healing isn’t linear, and growth can be messy. But with the right support, it's absolutely possible. I’ll meet you where you are—with empathy, honesty, and deep respect for your journey. Let’s find your way forward, together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Getting Started The first step in your therapy journey is a mental health assessment, or intake appointment. During this session, we’ll explore your history, current concerns, and what brought you to therapy. I use a variety of assessment tools and questionnaires to help guide this process. From there, we’ll work together to create a personalized treatment plan based on your goals and needs. What to Expect Moving Forward In our ongoing work, I often draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns, build healthier coping strategies, and reduce emotional distress. CBT is a practical, evidence-based approach that focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, so I’ll offer a range of tools and perspectives to help you find what works best for you. The goal is to equip you with a flexible, supportive toolbox as you move toward meaningful and lasting change.
