Jason Maas, LMHC

Jason Maas, LMHC

Psychotherapist
NY
I am here for you as a gentle, patient, and empathic presence. We will figure this out together. I hold a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from City University of New York, Brooklyn College. I was trained first in Psychoanalysis, then Somatic approaches to therapy, and found my way to Jungian Psychology, Energy Work, Breathwork, Ancestral and Spiritual Psychotherapy. I've woven these and more to create a method of holistic healing that's a more effective alternative to traditional talk therapy. My scope of healing is larger in order to address the root causes of anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, conflict, and help navigate the intersectionality of the many unhealthy systems we are affected by in our troubled world.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I'm passionate about helping heal ancestral trauma wounds, which underpin the symptoms that tend to be labelled "mental illness." I feel called to assisting those in some kind of caregiving, healing, or empathic role in their work, family system, and/or community. As an artist myself, I am dedicated to helping people reclaim their creativity and inspiration.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I'm a father of a daughter and am devoted to making a more just, equitable, and conscious world now and for future generations of human and more-than-human life. Co-Founder and Therapeutic Collaborator-in-chief of Shadowlight Center, a Mind-Body-Soul therapy practice. When inquiring, briefly share what you would like to work on.
