Hi there, I'm Jason! Do you want to break free from all of the negative, constant chatter in your own mind? I help clients think, see, and ultimately feel in new ways. My goals are to help you improve your self-esteem, cultivate compassion and optimism, and set goals toward becoming the best version of yourself. My approach I mostly use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but I also supplement with Compassion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. My focus I work with working people, helping them overcome barriers to success in work, family, and community. I also specialize in young people transitioning to adulthood, as well as couples. My communication style I try my best to make my sessions feel like human conversations with someone who cares. I meet clients where they are at and let them guide conversations to wherever they need. My journey to mental healthcare I lived in New York City when 9/11 happened. I saw how much pain that event caused, and it made me want to dedicate my life to helping people. I have worked in human services my whole professional career. I do not plan on ever changing. I earned my Master's in Social Work from Hunter College, which has equipped me with the skills to support clients effectively. My goals for you I help clients establish SMART goals for themselves-Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Timebound. I prefer to identify and address goals as quickly as the client feels ready for it. My first session with you My clients can expect me to prioritize getting to know them as a person first and building a connection. When they feel ready, we can get into the reasons why they've chosen to start therapy.
