Psychotherapist
OR
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) working with clients statewide in Oregon via telehealth. I work with adults and specialize in addiction, anxiety, depression, and trauma, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to empower clients to make changes in their lives. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. My approach I take a holistic approach to supporting change. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy but also integrate Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and talk therapy. At my core, I am an Adlerian and subscribe to Alfred Adler’s Individual Psychology methods. My focus With experience as both a Drug & Alcohol counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor, I address co-occurring issues, including substance abuse, anxiety, and depression. Given the link between trauma and substance abuse, I also work with adverse childhood experiences. My communication style My style is calm, accommodating, and personable. I want clients to feel comfortable sharing anything, and I pride myself on listening, validating, and empathizing without judgment. My journey to mental healthcare I started Vantage Point Counseling after nearly 20 years of public service in the military and State government. I entered counseling with a desire to help others based on my own experiences. My goals for you I empower clients to identify what they want and how they want to feel, helping them move from their current state toward their goals. My first session with you The first session is where I learn about you—what brought you into therapy and how it affects your life. It’s about building rapport and understanding where you want to go. I believe everyone is their own expert on how to change.
