I hold a BA in Music from Principia College (1991) and a Master's in Rehabilitation Counseling from Bowling Green State University (2000). In 2004, I earned my professional counselor designation, and by 2009, I became a licensed professional clinical counselor. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with diverse populations, including those dealing with severe and persistent mental illnesses such as schizophrenia and psychotic disorders, dual diagnosis (mental health and substance use), anxiety, depression, trauma, and bipolar disorder. I've also served in crisis situations as an emergency services mental health assessor and have experience working with incarcerated youth. My approach to therapy is grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and person-centered modalities, but I draw from a broad range of influences to tailor my methods to each individual's needs. I believe in empowering individuals to be their best selves, helping them overcome obstacles, and supporting them in achieving their goals and dreams. Working with me means embarking on a journey of self-discovery and growth. Together, we will explore your internal struggles and develop strategies to manage them effectively. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where you can feel heard and understood.
