Getting to know Jeanette Fierro

Welcome to my page. My name is Jeanette Fierro licensed professional counselor for the state of Texas. I am someone who understands how lost and confusing life can feel, especially after enduring difficult situations. Born and raised in the Mexican-American culture, I understand the subtle meanings behind some beliefs and behaviors of various backgrounds other than my own. I know firsthand the challenges and beauty that life can bring. My goal is to walk alongside you as you navigate your way into the light of life. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s degree, and over the past six years, I have gained extensive experience in the mental health field. My work has given me a deep understanding of the physical and emotional turmoil that feelings such as sadness, hyperarousal, and distressing memories can cause. I recognize that constant worry, fear, or anger can take precious time away from areas of life that could bring purpose and meaning. I specialize in working with individuals dealing with self-esteem and confidence issues, navigating relationships, constant worry and fear, various levels of depression, and abuse. My approach to therapy is collaborative and client-centered, focusing on helping you reach your personal goals. Together, we can identify these goals and work towards achieving them using tailored therapeutic techniques. A visual image of sessions with me look like us getting to know each other, listening while the client tells their story or explores the meaning behind their behaviors. I provide psychoeducation and tools to manage distressing emotions, work with you at solving problems, analyzing the meaning behind your problem together at their pace. I provide exercises and/or thinking activities to practice outside of therapy. On my free time, I enjoy improving my art skills in oil painting, reading psychological books, watching TV, and dancing if there happens to be some type of event.
