Jeanne Foster, LPC

Psychotherapist
PA
Hi there, I'm Jeanne! My name is Jeanne Foster, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. Most people call me Jeana (pronounced like Gina). I approach therapy as a collaborative relationship where people can learn to change their thoughts and behaviors and improve themselves and their lives. I also believe that people can and do heal from mental illness and love being a part of this process. I earned my Master's in Psychology from Frostburg State University and my Bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh. My approach I believe the most important part of effective therapy is the relationship between therapist and client. I provide a safe, confidential, and judgment-free environment where people can be themselves and share as much or as little as they are comfortable sharing. I work with each client to develop a relationship that matches their needs and best supports their growth. Communication is essential-I invite feedback and feel therapy works best when the client feels invested in their therapy and how each session goes. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) and utilize various theoretical approaches to match each client's needs and preferences. My focus I love working with people highly motivated to make changes so they can thrive in the life they want. Whether healing from trauma, managing depression or anxiety, or changing anxious thinking holding you back in your career, I support you and help you learn skills to move forward to achieve your goals and live your most fulfilling life. My communication style I create a safe, open, and inviting therapeutic space where clients set the pace and create their own path. I believe therapy is hard work at times but also that laughing and seeing humor can be part of the process.
