Hi there, I'm Jeanne! Self-knowledge can only take us so far sometimes in dealing with our challenges. It can be invaluable to have a trusted and non-judgmental person to help us see our blindspots and to provide insights that we can't see on our own. Reaching out for therapy is a wonderful way to get that extra support and perspective when you are feeling stuck. My focus It is very fulfilling to help with recovery of trauma and stressor-related disorders, substance use disorders and mood disorders. Oftentimes, this involves a deeper approach which includes visiting core wounds, addressing them and then focusing on positive solutions. My approach I find that it's important to really listen and develop the right approach for each person as an individual. I am trained in EMDR, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and DBT, as well as many others. I welcome open dialogue about what is working for you and what else you might want to try. My communication style I believe I am a warm, compassionate and empathic person, and I like to listen well and really understand people. We all need validation, support, encouragement and to know that we are not alone in the struggles we face. I tend to be gentle, while pointing out observations or discrepancies to help shine a light into dark areas. My journey to mental healthcare My life experiences have been the best teacher for some of life's challenges. The education and training I have received have given me a greater understanding of how we develop, traits we are born with and things that develop from experiences and how they are related. It is very fulfilling to help people achieve greater understanding of themselves.
