Jeanne Louther, LPC

Psychotherapist
WI
My name is Jeanne Louther, and I am dually licensed in the State of Wisconsin as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC). I am based north of Madison, WI, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with adults of all ages and specialize in anxiety, stress, depression, and trauma. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and work collaboratively with you to find the approach that works best for you. I earned both my Bachelor's degree and Master’s in Rehabilitation Psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, which has shaped my strengths-based, evidence-informed approach. My approach is collaborative. I strongly believe you have all the answers within you. My role is to help you find your way to your best self. Using CBT and DBT, I support you in achieving your goals through a strengths-based framework. Most people seek therapy during transitions or stressful times. I enjoy working with adults of all ages who want help finding their way back to happiness. I strive to create a non-judgmental, supportive, and welcoming environment. Asking for help is hard, and I try to make the process as engaging and rewarding as possible. Therapy doesn’t work if you dread seeing your therapist! I am a therapist because I love this work. I see potential in everyone and enjoy helping people discover that potential for themselves. Goal setting is a collaborative process. While I may have ideas on how to accomplish goals, they must resonate with you. I will ask what you wish to have differently in your life, what you hope for, and what is getting in the way. Together, we will create a plan that is achievable. This is YOUR plan, and my role is to help you achieve it.
