Psychotherapist
WA
Hello! I am Jeanne Morrow, a clinical social worker with a Master's in Social Work from San Jose State University. I genuinely enjoy connecting with people and learning about their life challenges and successes. I work from a strengths perspective-we all have them-and focus on how we can capitalize on these strengths to overcome obstacles. While I have experience working with all age groups, I prefer working with adults. My approach I typically prefer brief, solution-focused sessions where clients are given tools to use immediately. I see you as the author of your story, and I am just the proofreader, helping to revise any plot lines you're not happy with. Together, we reframe issues and find solutions as a team. My focus My caseload usually includes people experiencing anxiety or depression, adjustment issues, and relationship challenges. My communication style I strive to create a relaxed, light environment where clients feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and concerns. I want my clients to feel valued and to leave each session having gained something new. My journey to mental healthcare I began my career as a Registered Nurse for 15 years before earning my Master's in Social Work. As a nurse, I was drawn to behavioral health and often spent time talking with patients about personal issues affecting their physical health. I saw how discussing these issues often eased their physical pain. This experience highlighted the importance of prevention and self-care, making it a natural and rewarding transition to become a licensed therapist. I love my work. My goals for you We are a team. Together, we create goals based on realistic expectations: Can we do this? How long will it take? How will I know if I'm making progress? My first session with you A comfortable discussion where I gain an understanding of what is happening in your life.
