Getting to know Jeffrey Robson

"Hello, I'm Jeffrey, and I'm glad you're here. With 30 years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Counselor (LPCC-S) in Northeast Ohio, I've had the privilege of working with adults in various clinical settings, including community mental health centers, general and psychiatric hospitals, and private practices. Currently, I run a solo practice in Brecksville, OH, just 20 minutes south of downtown Cleveland, where I offer diagnostic assessments and individual counseling services both in-office and via telehealth. Throughout my career, I've also served as the director of psychiatric emergency services in community and hospital-based facilities, providing psychiatric emergency assessments, Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) levels of care. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Kent State University and a Master’s in education/counseling from the University of Akron. In my practice, I employ a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Humanistic, Interpersonal, Trauma-Focused, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). My therapeutic philosophy centers on creating a strong therapeutic relationship and a safe space for my clients. I believe in facilitating solid attachments and connections, identifying core issues, and empowering clients to make meaningful and lasting changes. My clinical practice has allowed me to work with individuals facing a wide range of life challenges, including phobias, suicidal ideation, anxiety, depression, stress, anger management, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, dissociative disorders, grief, life transitions, medical issues, OCD, PTSD, intimate relationships, spirituality, trauma, autism spectrum support, and LGBTQIA+ support. I am passionate about my work and confident in my ability to help anyone with a spark of hope, willingness, and courage to move ahead.
