Getting to know Jenna Markakis
I’m a therapist who believes that change and growth are possible even when life feels heavy, uncertain, or overwhelming. I show up as myself in the therapy room, attuned, honest, and respectful of your pace and process. My approach is integrative, warm, non-judgmental, and relational, with a light sense of humor and a deep respect for how much courage it takes to show up and look inward. It is my core belief that therapy works best when there is trust and safety established and above all, feels human.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of New York. I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor, certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors. I received my MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University and my BA in Psychology from Mercy College.
I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity exploration, and family or relationship dynamics. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable high-achievers, caretakers, and current or former athletes who are used to holding it all together. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and enjoy supporting clients exploring sexuality and identity, especially when those parts feel layered or still taking shape.
I hope therapy feels like a place where you can exhale, quiet the outside noise, and get curious about what healing and growth can look like for you.
