Getting to know Dr. Jennie Sucilsky

Great to meet you! I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 15 years of practice experience. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Adelphi University and a PhD from the State University of New York, Stony Brook. I am passionate about helping people develop their best selves and build quality of life! Just as every person is unique, so is every therapeutic process. I use diverse and creative approaches to help each of my clients find their path to success. Everyone can find their path to healing and growth with the right tools and support. I use evidence-based approaches and maintain a therapeutic space that is safe, supportive, and productive. Therapy can be hard work! I meet my clients where they are and support them as they jump into their journey of growth and healing. In sessions, we will work hard together, find solutions and healing, share some laughs, and build new perspectives.

What should a new client know about working with you?

At this time I am only accepting new patients for group therapy services. I have several short term group therapies that run on a rotating basis. If you are interested in group therapy please schedule for a group appointment for a 15 minute screening where we will work together to match you with the option that best suits your needs!

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Below is a sample of current groups: - Imposter Syndrome and Anxiety:  Are you burnt out and always dashing to the upcoming challenge? Do you find yourself perpetually reaching for the next accomplishment but never fully sure of yourself? Learn to manage high achieving anxiety and imposter syndrome so you can feel confident and feel like your best self. -Post Divorce/Break-up Support Group:  Are you struggling with a recent (or not so recent) break-up or divorce? This type of grief is very real and can be emotionally exhausting, distracting, and generally difficult to manage, especially when the world sometimes expects a quick recovery. This group creates a safe space for grieving, solidarity, and resolution of some of the more difficult emotions that often accompany this process. - Recovery Support: Have you made changes to your use of substances or impulsive behaviors, or are you looking to make changes? This support group is for anyone to make changes to their use of mood altering substances or behaviors. Recovery is self defined and this group will never be about abstinence, rather it is about finding your own truth about your relationship with substances or behaviors that have be challenging for you. - Overdose Loss: Have you lost a loved one to overdose? Have you had close calls about this type of loss and live in fear?  You are not alone and this group is designed to be a source of support, encouragement, and a safe space to process the trauma associated with overdose related loss.
