My name is Jennifer Coleman and I am a licensed professional counselor. I believe in developing a rapport with the client to form a working relationship using a person-centered approach initially until learning the best counseling approach to best fit the client. I utilize a variety of techniques addressing the underlying emotions and issues associated with families, children and adolescents as well as marriage counseling. I often utilized a cognitive-behavioral approach especially with children to focus on how the thought process affects behaviors. I also frequently use DBT for anxiety and solution focused therapy with families. Another approach I use with teenagers is reality therapy and music therapy. I attempt to create a calm environment and relaxed so the client feels comfortable opening up to establish a working rapport.
