The decision to start therapy is a courageous step, and I am ready to help you get the most out of your journey. I bring life experience, warmth, nurturing attention, and a sense of humor and compassion to our sessions. I will remind you of the strengths you bring as well as explore areas of growth as I join you as a guide and witness on your quest to embody your true identity and find meaning and purpose in your life. The power to heal, reinvent, and thrive is within you, and I am here to help you find it. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help you identify unhelpful thought patterns and find replacement thoughts that are aligned with your values and true sense of self. Narrative therapy can help you understand internalized stories that are keeping you stuck and free you to envision and move towards an idea of self that really fits. Depending on your preferences and needs, somatic work, mindfulness/meditation, and journaling can be incorporated into our work both in and out of session, as well as art therapy interventions, which can give you a chance to get out of your cognitive and into your intuitive experience. My primary focus in therapy is on your goals and progress. Together, we’ll identify challenges and work on strategies to help you move forward with confidence- this is your journey, and I am here to help you identify and grow your strengths.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Have you been feeling stuck in old, stale patterns in your life that you don't know how to change? I work with people who are managing life transitions, and those seeking support for life transitions, and clarifying and owning their own empowered identity. Whether you’re working through depression, building coping skills to manage societal anxiety, creating resilient and resonant relationships, or exploring your own personal values and life goals, I’ll work with you to create a plan for growth that is meaningful and attainable. I bring warmth, compassion, and a sense of humor to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment during our sessions. I practice active listening and use empathy to assist you in finding opportunities to reflect on your experiences with curiosity and unconditional positive regard. I show up with patience and kindness as you work through difficult experiences.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My journey with therapy began as a personal one. I believe in the healing and life-changing power of this work because of my own personal transformation resulting from work with a therapist. During my graduate training, I had the opportunity to begin helping others to begin making their own personal journeys, and this experience reaffirmed to me the powerful role therapy can play in helping all people heal and change their lives. I’m deeply motivated by the fundamental belief that everyone has the ability to choose growth and change, and I am honored to hold this hope for my clients as they are building capacity to see their own agency and believe in their power to direct their own lives. Witnessing my clients gain wisdom, empowerment, and peace through compassion for themselves makes this work both rewarding and an honor. I believe the work of therapy is a sacred alliance between you and your therapist. During our work together, we will identify and collaborate to set therapeutic goals that matter to YOU. You are the expert of your own life, and through the course of our work together, we will check in to assess whether your progress towards goals is meaningful and measurable in your life. It is also important to keep in mind that we can adapt your goals as you get deeper into the work, since as we work together, your goals may evolve as you gain new insights. I am here to help you reach these goals and help you clarify what you need as you experience change through the therapeutic process.
