Getting to know Jennifer Devenny

I believe our lives are shaped by the relationships we have, the families and communities we come from, and the broader social worlds we move through. Many of the ways we protect ourselves, relate to others, or feel stuck developed for important reasons. Together, we'll explore these experiences with curiosity rather than judgment. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, family conflict, life transitions, grief, or questions of identity and belonging, my goal is to create a thoughtful, collaborative space where all parts of your experience are welcome. My work is grounded in a psychodynamic approach and informed by relational and attachment-based thinking. Together, we'll explore not only what's happening in your life today, but also the experiences and relationships that continue to influence how you see yourself and connect with others. As we develop a deeper understanding of these dynamics, new possibilities for change can emerge. I received my Master of Social Work from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and trained in couples and family therapy at the Ackerman Institute. My practice is queer-affirming, anti-racist, and attentive to the ways race, culture, gender, sexuality, class, disability, and other aspects of identity shape our lives and relationships. I work with individuals, couples, and families, and welcome clients from all backgrounds, identities, and family structures. I bring warmth, curiosity, and genuine engagement to my work, creating a space where you can feel seen, understood, and supported as we explore your experiences and work toward meaningful change.
