Getting to know Jennifer Dobes

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the state of California. I work with teens and adults in person in Camarillo, CA, and statewide via video sessions. I have experience working with a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma (sexual and other), self-harm, life transitions, relationships, blended families, and others. My greatest passion lies in Christian counseling and, when requested by the client, I am happy to incorporate faith-based concepts into our sessions. My approach I believe that each person I work with is unique and will respond best to different techniques, so I work hard to tailor the therapeutic experience to best meet each person's individual needs. I am certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and also frequently incorporate concepts from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Mindfulness-based approaches, Internal Family Systems, and others. My focus In my counseling practice, I have found that I seem to have a very positive connection with those who are struggling to heal from past wounds, whether those wounds come from traumatic experiences, painful relationships, personal struggles or mistakes, or other sources. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside those who feel "broken" as they find their path toward wholeness. I also work very well with those who feel that they are not currently thriving or reaching their full potential due to difficulties with mood or emotional regulation, relational challenges, or adjusting to changes in life circumstances. My communication style My communication style is warm and accepting, while also being straightforward. I believe every person I meet deserves compassion and respect, and I will always offer that. I listen with a desire to truly hear you and to meet you in exactly the place you need.
