Jennifer Feldman, LCSW-R
Jennifer Feldman is a licensed clinical social worker with an R designation, specializing in working with adolescents and their families through psychotherapy. Ms. Feldman begins all sessions with a comprehensive assessment to understand the client's story. This includes many aspects of the client's past and present, touching upon the biological, psychological, emotional, and social characteristics in their lives. She is very skilled at listening and validating one's problems, making clients feel that treatment is worthwhile. She has a very positive outlook that she teaches to her clients. Ms. Feldman can work with a variety of populations, including those with Autism and Developmental Disabilities. Her goal is to help clients see that problems can be managed and that asking for help is a strength.
Ms. Feldman obtained her Bachelor of Social Work and Master's in Social Work at Adelphi University. Shortly thereafter, she received her Certified Social Worker degree. During her education, Ms. Feldman participated in several internships, including a geriatric facility, a foster care program, and the YMWHA, a community setting geared toward helping those less fortunate. For the last 22 years, Ms. Feldman has worked in a psychiatric hospital on an adolescent unit. She has collaborated with schools, clinics, case managers, and many other agencies involved with adolescents and their families. During her time there, she has utilized many different types of therapy, including short-term approaches like DBT and CBT. She has also worked with trauma victims and helped those with many psychiatric diagnoses such as PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Mood Disorders, and others.
