Hi there, I'm Jennifer! Seeking help for mental health issues can feel intimidating and humbling, but it doesn’t have to be. Recognizing when to ask for help is a sign of strength. We all need someone who will listen, empathize, guide when needed, and even challenge us at times. This is what you’ll experience with me. My focus I have extensive experience working with teens through older adults, military, and church workers, addressing issues such as depression, anxiety, self-worth, trauma, and more. I have worked in settings, such as high schools, outpatient programs, and private practice. My approach incorporates CBT mindfulness, education, and attentive listening. My approach I believe you are the expert on your life and experiences. My goal is to help you build the tools you need to navigate life’s challenges confidently. Ultimately, my aim is to work myself out of your life—knowing you’re equipped to handle things independently, yet always available as a safety net if needed. My communication style I fully believe that having the space to speak freely without fear of judgment is essential to finding answers for healing. We will work together as a team and I believe in being flexible and following your unique path to healing. While I might be the navigation system, you are the one in the driver's seat. My journey to mental healthcare Since childhood, I have known that my calling was to be a counselor. I recognized early on the need to be heard without judgment. Often, the answers emerge through the process of talking things out. I offer a non-judgmental space where you can speak freely, while I ask thoughtful questions to help you determine what's best in your situation. My goals for you In the first session, we will look at your strengths and your needs, and determining how you will know that things are better down the road. We will also discuss goals of what you hope to accomplish by the next session, big or small, and each session we will assess progress.
