Jennifer Jahahn, LMHC

Psychotherapist
108 S Jackson St, Seattle, WA
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and trauma-informed yoga therapist. My holistic approach combines talk therapy and somatic experiences to heal your deepest wounds from within. Through experiential, mindfulness-based practices, we can deepen your connection to your inner knowing and find grounded, heart-centered connection to your Self. I attended Bastyr University earning a Master's in Counseling Psychology and have been in private practice since 2022. I have experience working with individuals, couples, families, and groups, focusing on trauma, emotional regulation, anxiety, and mood/personality disorders. In our work together, I provide a safe and non-judgmental space for your lived and living experience. Let's move through what has gotten in the way of living a life that is authentically yours. In my free time, I love to read, dance, travel, experience as much live music as I can, spend time with my family, spooky black cat, Bernese Mountain dog and old grumpy Beagle, and can be found seeking solace and soul healing along the saltwater shore and in the wild woods of Washington.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Our therapeutic relationship is of utmost importance and you can expect that we will spend time getting to know each other. We will work together to find the best way to spend our 55 minutes. As humans, we learn through experience. Based on your needs and preferences, I use a combination of talk therapy and experiential, "bottom-up" approaches to healing, including mindfulness, present-moment awareness, breathwork, felt-sensing, meditation and gentle embodiment/movement practices, all in the service of deepening your intuitive connection to Self and healing from the inside out.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Your session can look like many things based on your needs and preferences. I offer a variety of mind-body practices and those can be included throughout talk therapy in a number of ways. I will invite you to pause and connect with your living experience in the present moment and drop into your body. Perhaps you need to talk and process...perhaps you need to slow down and breathe...perhaps you need to move around, shake, do some yoga postures, dance...perhaps you need meditation and rest. We will work together to find the best approach for you in the moment. My sessions are not formulaic or highly structured...wherever you are at, that is where we are and will go from there.
