Getting to know Jennifer Jones

My name is Jennifer Susan Jones, and I care deeply about connecting with clients, building rapport, and holding the therapeutic space. I’m a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, wife, mother, nature-lover, and fitness enthusiast. I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Northridge. My approach I offer an integrative therapeutic approach tailored to each client’s needs: Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to explore thoughts; dreamwork; active imagination; Sandplay; art & play therapy; Motivational Interviewing for clients considering life changes; and somatic interventions. I’m trained in Internal Family Systems and trauma-informed care. Curious by nature, I regularly seek training to expand my skills. I have completed requirements to become a Registered Sandplay Practitioner (RSP) and will be awarded the designation in July 2024. RSPs complete training, supervision, and consultation as outlined by Sandplay Therapists of America. Sandplay is a hands-on therapeutic method that facilitates the psyche’s natural capacity for healing. My focus I specialize in working with kids ages 9 and up, teens, women’s issues, older adults, and patients navigating medical care. I support clients dealing with PTSD, trauma, anxiety, and depression. My communication style I am authentic and compassionate, listening with respect and curiosity. I collaborate with clients to clarify concerns and symptoms and create meaningful treatment goals. I use metaphors and visuals to teach concepts and work with clients to identify values, strengths, and support systems. My journey to mental healthcare I am genuinely curious about people and what makes them unique—their motivations, relationships, past influences, and passions. I believe all individuals possess strengths, a desire for wholeness, and an inner Self that can be accessed for self-parenting and cultivating a positive self-concept.
