Jennifer Jordan, LICSW

Psychotherapist
MA
You are capable and used to holding it together, but something feels heavier than it should. Maybe anxiety hums in the background. Maybe ADHD makes daily life more overwhelming than it looks from the outside. Maybe you are navigating relationship complexity, exploring ethical non-monogamy, or carrying guilt and shame that will not loosen their grip. You want clarity, steadiness, and a place where you do not have to perform. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW in Maine, LICSW in Massachusetts) offering secure telehealth therapy to teens and adults across both states. I work with people navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship and family stress, identity exploration, and shame. I am affirming of LGBTQ+ identities and consensual, ethical non-monogamy, and I aim to create a space where your full story is welcomed, not judged or pathologized. My style is warm, direct, and collaborative. I do not ask what is wrong with you. I ask what happened to you, and we begin there. If this resonates, I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can see whether we are a good fit.

Getting to know Jennifer Jordan

What should a new client know about working with you?

My style is warm, direct, and down-to-earth. I will not just sit quietly and nod. I show up as a real person, because I am one, and that includes well-placed humor when the moment calls for it. Therapy can hold heavy things and still leave room to breathe and laugh. I will engage with you, reflect back what I am noticing, and offer perspective when it helps, while you set the pace and we go only as deep and as fast as feels right for you. I work from a simple belief: the patterns causing you pain made sense at some point. They were ways you learned to cope. So rather than treating yourself as a problem to fix, we get curious about those patterns and build something more workable. My approach is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and collaborative, tailored to your goals rather than a fixed protocol. Expect practical, real-life work, with concrete tools when they help and no pressure or homework you did not sign up for. I aim to create a safe, judgment-free space where nothing is too messy or complicated to bring in. I am affirming of LGBTQ+ identities and consensual, ethical non-monogamy, and I take your full story seriously. You do not need the right words or a clear agenda to start. Showing up is enough, and we will figure out the rest together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We start with a free 15-minute consultation, a no-pressure chance to talk about what is bringing you in and see whether we are a good fit. The first few sessions are about getting to know each other. I will ask about what is going on now, your history, your relationships, and what you are hoping for, more as a real conversation than a rigid intake. Together we get clear on what meaningful progress would look like. From there, sessions are talk-based and shaped by what you need. A typical one might open with a brief check-in, then move into deeper work on a relationship, a recurring pattern, a hard emotion, or ADHD or anxiety that is flaring. When it helps, I offer practical tools like coping skills or communication strategies. I check in regularly about how the work is landing, and if something is not fitting, I want to know. Sessions are typically 60 minutes over secure video. We settle together on a frequency that supports steady progress while respecting your life and your budget.

More information on payments and coverage

I am an out-of-network, self-pay provider and do not bill insurance directly. Payment is due at the time of service and is processed securely through SimplePractice, my HIPAA-compliant practice platform, which accepts major credit and debit cards, HSA, American Express, and Discover. If you have out-of-network benefits, I am happy to provide a superbill, an itemized receipt you can submit to your insurance for possible partial reimbursement. I would encourage you to check with your plan ahead of time about your out-of-network coverage. I do not want cost to be the reason you cannot get support, so I offer a limited number of reduced-fee spots based on circumstances. Reach out and we can talk it through. I am glad to work with you to keep therapy affordable. I also offer a free 15-minute consultation before we begin. A cancellation and no-show policy applies, and the details are outlined in my practice paperwork.
