Psychotherapist
KS
I’m a trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming therapist who helps people make sense of the patterns, pressures, and past experiences that shape how they move through the world. My style is warm, direct, and collaborative. I don’t sit back and nod — I’m engaged, curious, and committed to helping you understand what’s happening in your mind and body and why it makes sense. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or exhausted from masking, people-pleasing, or carrying responsibilities that were never theirs to hold. Others are navigating anxiety, OCD, trauma, burnout, chronic stress, or the impact of growing up in chaotic or invalidating environments. I specialize in working with complex cases and with individuals who are highly sensitive, neurodivergent, or managing multiple stressors at once. In our work together, you can expect clarity, compassion, and practical strategies. I explain what I’m doing and why, offer choices, and check in regularly so therapy feels safe and collaborative. I help you build insight, strengthen boundaries, understand your nervous system, and develop tools that actually fit your real life — not generic advice or one-size-fits-all solutions. My goal is to create a space where you don’t have to mask, perform, or be “the strong one.” You get to show up exactly as you are. If you’ve ever felt “too much,” “too sensitive,” or “too complicated,” you won’t feel that here. You deserve support that honors your lived experience and helps you reconnect with your strengths, your voice, and your sense of balance.

Getting to know Jennifer Keane

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you work with me, you can expect a calm, steady therapist who takes the time to understand your lived experience—not just your symptoms. I use a trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming approach, which means I adapt to your nervous system, communication style, and pacing. You don’t have to mask, perform, or fit into a rigid model of therapy. You get to show up exactly as you are. From the beginning, I’m transparent about what I’m doing and why. I explain my process, offer choices, and check in regularly so you always feel informed and in control. You won’t be judged for how you cope, how you communicate, or how long it takes to feel comfortable. My role is to help you make sense of your patterns, understand your nervous system, and build tools that actually work in your real life. Many of my clients come in feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or exhausted from carrying too much for too long. Others are navigating anxiety, OCD, trauma, burnout, chronic stress, or the impact of growing up in chaotic or invalidating environments. I’m comfortable with complexity, and I stay grounded even when things feel messy or intense. Sessions with me are collaborative and practical. We explore what’s happening in your mind and body, identify what’s getting in the way, and create a plan that feels manageable. You’ll leave sessions with insight, language for what you’re experiencing, and strategies you can use between appointments. Most importantly, therapy with me is a space where you don’t have to be “the strong one.” You deserve support that honors your experiences, respects your boundaries, and helps you build a life that feels more balanced, grounded, and authentically yours.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process is calm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that people heal best when they feel understood, respected, and in control of their own pace. I don’t expect you to show up with perfect words or a clear plan. We figure things out together, step by step, in a way that honors your nervous system, your communication style, and the realities of your life. We start by exploring what’s bringing you in and what feels most urgent or overwhelming. I ask thoughtful questions—not to judge or label you, but to understand the full context of what you’ve been carrying. This includes your history, patterns, strengths, relationships, and the systems around you. From there, we identify what matters most right now and what feels manageable to begin working on. As therapy continues, we build insight and clarity. I help you understand how your mind and body respond to stress, trauma, or long-term pressure, and why your reactions make sense. We look at patterns you’ve developed to survive, the roles you’ve had to play, and the boundaries that may need strengthening. I offer language, frameworks, and practical tools so you can make sense of your experiences and navigate them with more confidence. Sessions blend reflection, skill-building, and real-world application. You’ll leave with strategies that fit your life—not generic advice, but tools tailored to your capacity and goals. I check in regularly about what’s working and what needs adjusting. You always have choices, and you’re never pushed to move faster than feels safe. Over time, clients often notice they feel more grounded, more self-aware, and more able to advocate for themselves. They understand their patterns, trust their instincts, and feel less overwhelmed by the things that once consumed them. My goal is to help you build a life that feels more balanced, authentic, and sustainable—one step at a time, with support that meets you where you are.
