What should a new client know about working with you?

🌿 What Clients Can Expect Working With Me -A Safe, Nonjudgmental Space Clients can be honest about what they’re feeling — even emotions that feel “too much” or hard to explain — without fear of being dismissed. I will meet them with curiosity and compassion, helping them feel seen and understood. -Collaborative Exploration I help clients make sense of the patterns beneath their struggles — how emotions, thoughts, and behaviors interact — and guide them toward insight rather than simply giving advice. Sessions feel like teamwork, not interrogation. -Practical Skill Building Using CBT, DBT‑informed, ACT, and psychodynamic approaches, you teach clients concrete tools for emotional regulation, communication, and self‑understanding. They leave sessions with strategies they can apply immediately. -Trauma‑Informed Care Clients experience sensitivity to their histories and triggers. I pace sessions thoughtfully, ensuring safety and choice while exploring difficult experiences. -Respect for Identity and Context I recognize the unique challenges of chronic illness, disability, military life, LGBTQ+, and relational trauma. Clients feel that their lived experiences are respected and integrated into treatment. -Authentic Growth I help clients reconnect with their values and strengths, fostering change that feels genuine — not forced or performative. Progress is measured by increased self‑trust, emotional clarity, and relational confidence.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session is simply about getting to know you and understanding what brought you to therapy. We’ll talk about what feels most important right now, what you’ve been navigating, and what you hope to get out of our work together. There’s no pressure to go deep or unpack anything heavy unless that’s what you need. I meet every client exactly where they are, so each first session looks a little different. Some people want to share their story right away, while others prefer to start slowly and focus on comfort, safety, and building trust. My goal is to create a space where you can show up as you are — without judgment, without rushing, and without having to hide how hard things have been. Together, we’ll begin laying the foundation for a therapeutic relationship that feels supportive, collaborative, and centered on your needs.
