Getting to know Jennifer Luria
I became a therapist because I just really like to connect with people where they are at in life. Your goals and values will guide therapy process when you work with me. I really appreciate connecting with individuals who have different needs and life experiences. I have been in private practice since 2017. Prior to private practice I worked at the University of Iowa Center for Disabilities and Development (CDD). At the CDD I was a team member for the Autism Center for Excellence. I have also worked as a parenting coach and medical social worker. I have been a social worker since graduating from the University of Iowa in 2002. My experience has been working with individuals with autism, ADHD, depression, anxiety, behavioral struggles, and OCD. Last year I completed training to become an environmental social worker. As a social worker, my approach is to really assess for what an individual's life is like and look at strengths and challenges within that life. I really like to collaborate with individuals to set goals and teach strategies for coping with challenges.
