Hi there, I'm Jennifer! My name is Jennifer Mailhot, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in CT. I earned my Master's in Counseling from Western Connecticut State University. I am also the Substance Use Program Director for adolescents in Bridgeport, CT. Along with my substance use skills, I have extensive clinical experience with anxiety and depression. I work with a person-centered approach and am here for you and your needs, to meet you where you're at. I look forward to supporting you in your therapy journey! My approach Modalities: Person-centered, CBT, DBT, Psychodynamic, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused. My focus Conditions I typically work with: Substance use and addiction, dual diagnosis, anxiety and panic disorders, depressive disorders, and trauma. My communication style I provide a calm and open environment for my clients. I meet my clients where they're at so that they're comfortable with each step we take toward their recovery journey. My journey to mental healthcare I started in substance use due to family struggles with the issue. I fell in love with the population and quickly realized the connection between substance use and mental health. It is my passion to help others realize the connections between their symptoms and their actions and support them in developing solutions that are best suited for them. My goals for you I start with goal setting from day one, starting small and adding enhancements throughout the therapy process. My first session with you I will ask several introductory questions to get to know my clients better. No one is required to answer any questions they're not comfortable with.
