My name is Jenny and I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). I offer individual counseling services to adults across Minnesota via telehealth. I specialize in helping individuals navigate trauma, depression, anxiety, stress, self-esteem, grief, relationship challenges and major life transitions. I offer compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to each person’s unique needs. I offer evening appointments and can provide special accommodations for weekend appointments if needed. My counseling approach varies from client to client based on the individual’s needs. What should a new client know about working with you?

I focus on helping you maximize your strengths to cope with the issues that led you to counseling. I’m here to help you sort through what feels difficult right now and to offer practical strategies to support healing and resiliency. My communication style is conversational. I try to create an environment that feels free from judgment. I'm told that I am easy to open up to and that I’m empathic. I take a gentle yet direct approach, offering honest feedback while always honoring your pace and comfort level. I find that humor can be a helpful and healing part of the process. I’ve known since High School that I wanted to be a counselor. I was that friend who people often confided in, and I liked helping others feel better. During my undergraduate and graduate training, I gained experience in diverse settings including group homes and psychiatric hospitals. Once I obtained my counseling degree in 2004, I worked in residential and outpatient settings treating clients of all ages. One of the outpatient settings was the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center of Moorhead/Fargo. I saw clients in an office as well as at outreach locations including middle schools and high schools. I also worked in a psychiatric hospital conducting needs assessments to help clients find the right level of care. I’ve enjoyed working in a variety of settings and have settled into seeing clients in an outpatient setting via telehealth.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

At the start of treatment, we'll examine the reasons that led to counseling and create an individualized treatment plan. Every person is different, so we'll explore what approach best supports your goals and growth. I'm a believer in SMART goals - specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. We’ll co-create goals that feel meaningful and achievable, adjusting them as needed to reflect your progress and evolving needs. Our first session together will focus on getting to know each other and understanding what led you to come to counseling. I’ll ask thoughtful questions to better understand your goals, strengths, and what’s been weighing on you. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as you’d like. This is your space, and we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you. If you’re ready to begin or have questions about working together, I’d be honored to connect.
