Getting to know Jennifer Nilssen
I specialize in working with young adults and adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, burnout, and major life transitions. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of your next steps, you don't have to figure it out alone. I offer a warm, supportive space where you can process your experiences, build resilience, and move toward lasting emotional and spiritual growth.
What should a new client know about working with you?
My approach is collaborative and centered around your specific needs. I'll work with you to understand your challenges, identify your goals, and help you develop practical tools for managing stress, improve mood, and build confidence. I draw from evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based practices. For those who desire it, I also offer faith-integrated counseling that respects and supports your spiritual journey.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Once you book an appointment on Zocdoc, I will personally reach out to verify information, answer any questions you may have, and make sure I am the right fit for you. The intake session will focus mainly on learning more about you, setting goals for what you hope to get out of therapy, and building a trusting relationship. Following sessions focus exploring your thoughts, feelings, and experiences while building practical tools for navigating life.
